When the weather's warm, lazing under a charming vintage-style parasol is a glorious way to pass a sunny day. Whether you slot one into a base near your seating area, outdoor dining table or picnic blanket, or pack one up for a day spent at the park or beach, their scalloped edges, fringed trim and colourful patterns bring the elegant garden party charm of years gone by.
The only problem? They're usually fairly expensive - often costing over £100. So, when we spotted this one in Christow's sale, we knew it was a great deal; it's currently priced at just £39.99.
It comes in lots of colours
Christow sells its inexpensive vintage-style tilting parasol in a range of lovely colours. We love the pinky-toned taupe stripe for elegant flair, and the navy stripe version, which is perfect for coastal gardens and summer beach trips.
Alternatively, you can keep things classic with the plain white parasol; ideal if you love a neutral scheme or want to create 'The White Company' style on a budget.
There's also a grey parasol and a green version, both available at the same price.
They're easy to transport
All Christow's parasols come with a handy drawstring carry bag in the same vintage-style fabric, which makes them easy to take to the park or the beach, or just pack up for storage at the end of the summer. The parasol weighs just 2kg, so you can sling it over your shoulder as you walk.
Extra features help block the sun
Not only does the parasol canopy extend to two metres across to block the sun, it's also made with water-resistant fabric with a UV50+ rating to block harmful rays. Plus, you can tilt the canopy to angle it towards the sun for better protection.
They have a screw-end pole
Each parasol pole has a useful screw thread at the end, making it easy to secure in a parasol base, or push down into sand at the beach.

Christow also has a selection of other stylish parasols and bases to browse, including a stylish Shanghai Parasol with a tilting function.
